The Technique

How do we reduce your blood pressure so dramatically? We simply measure the rate at which you are now breathing, and lower that rate to a "therapeutic" rate of breathing that causes you to relax. In just a short time, the muscles surrounding your blood vessels relax, your blood flows more freely, and your blood pressure is reduced. Often your systolic blood pressure can reduce by as much as 10-20 points in just 10 minutes. The effects can last all day.

Just breathe in and out with the gentle sounds of the crystal bowls. In the background, you can optionally play a beautiful sound of rain falling, and/or binaural audio designed to gradually relax you into a theta, or quiet and meditative, mental state. You can control the volume of each of these background sounds in the preferences.

Note that for the binaural sounds to work for you, you must use stereo headphones. This isn't a problem for most iPhone or iPod Touch users since the earbuds that Apple provides are stereo headphones -- indeed, pretty much any headphones you buy these days will be stereo headphones.

As always, consult with a doctor before using this program to treat hypertension or any other disease. Hypertension can have many causes and may indicate a more serious condition that requires additional medical treatment.
